These ladies were Finnish, big and tattooed. One of their sons was out of control, behaving dangerously round the pool and causing my daughters accident.

Original sketch for the face of my 'Illustrapedia' submission.
I spoke to this man as he kindly helped me by giving me a
baby-wipe for my daughters badly scraped knee when she fell
at the edge of the swimming pool. He turned out to be on holiday
himself with his family from Iraq. I didn't tell him he was an artists
muse.

While I was away I tried a bit of watercolour, here is my first try for a while.
I had prepared enlarged pencil scans and photocopied them onto
Daler Rowney Aquarelle 250gsm. These I then dry mounted onto heavy board
ready to paint, no paper stretching or buckle as I worked either, good stuff.

I made it back from Tunisia on one of the first flights into the UK after the flight ban.

I couldn't get internet access out there, didn't want to either.
